The Christ (5/5)

I know this that the Bible is literally true in those passages that present to us universal truth, such as, for instance: I will never leave you nor forsake you. All these passages that show that the Christ is right where we are; that it isn’t the Christ that has forsaken us, it isn’t God who has forsaken us, it’s that we have, in our human sense, become separated from God. We have not agreed that God can set a table before us in the wilderness. We have not agreed that there is nothing impossible to God. And where we have said, “Well, why doesn’t God do these things,” or “Why isn’t the human race better off?” We forget the very logical answer: The world isn’t turning to God; it’s turning to some finite concept of God. Paul called it the God whom ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.   Continue reading The Christ (5/5)

The Christ (4/5)

1950 First Portland Tape 4 Side 1 The Christ By Joel Goldsmith Part 4 of 5 This quality in the mind of Moses and in the mind of Elijah, we, today call “the Christ.” Whereas Moses called it I Am, and whereas Elijah called it the still small voice, or the angel of the Lord, or the voice of the Lord, you watch what happens when it comes to Christ Jesus, he doesn’t call it by any of those names; he has a new one. He calls it the Father within. I can of my own self do nothing, the … Continue reading The Christ (4/5)

The Christ (3/5)

1950 First Portland Tape 4 Side 1 The Christ By Joel Goldsmith Part 3 of 5 Now, I’m going to go to the third step along the way of scripture and show you that this meat that I have within, or water or wine or resurrection, was, as Jesus called it, even before Abraham. It was not a new dispensation given to the world by a man named Jesus. It was not a new teaching; it was an ancient teaching; so ancient that he said, before Abraham was, and Abraham was the Father of the Hebrews, the originators, so to … Continue reading The Christ (3/5)

The Christ (2/5)

1950 First Portland Class Tape 4 Side 1 The Christ By Joel Goldsmith Part 2 of 5 Now, as you read through your gospels, see if this is not the teaching of the Master. See if this is not what he meant by Christianity: I am the way, the truth, and the life. I am the resurrection; I am the bread; I am the wine; I am the water. Now, let me call your attention to his most mystical, transcendental teaching because it follows naturally; it’s the second step in this unfoldment of oneness. The scene is at the well … Continue reading The Christ (2/5)

Protection (4/7)

In living the true spiritual life you are not waiting for calls of discord and inharmony. You are living in such a state of consciousness that God alone is the reality, and your entire experience is one of dwelling in the realization of God ever governing, maintaining and sustaining Its own universe—from the beginning of time until the end of the world Continue reading Protection (4/7)

Grace (2/4): True Humility

Christ Consciousness is “this mind …which was also in Christ Jesus,” voicing Itself. You must cultivate It. A few people are born into the world with some measure of Christhood, but everyone may develop and cultivate this awareness to the degree of his fidelity to study and meditation. Your receptivity consists in keeping open the passageway of consciousness so that you may recognize and welcome the Christ as It touches and awakens your Soul into newness of life. In the silence of your being Christ speaks, and you hear: “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee…I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” This consciousness of God’s Presence is developed in quietness and stillness, in patience and perseverance; by abstaining from mental power or physical might, so that “my spirit” may function as your life. “Be still, and know that I am God.” Continue reading Grace (2/4): True Humility

Contemplation Develops the Beholder (4/5)

Just see neither good nor evil, be a beholder, and then let something take place within you—let the Father present the picture to you. You just bear witness, you just behold! But not with any idea of healing anyone, not with the idea of improving or enriching anyone—merely with the idea of beholding the picture as God made it and as God sees it. Continue reading Contemplation Develops the Beholder (4/5)

The Importance of Meditation (3/4)

Each day it is our privilege and duty to retire into our secret chamber of consciousness, and pray this prayer of realization for those of our household, our business, our community, our nation, and this giving of our understanding, of our time and our devotion will be rewarded in His Grace literally appearing as our sufficiency in all things.
