Good Friday: The Crucifixion of Personal Sense

There we see the principle of Good Friday, the principle of the crucifixion of personal sense, a crucifixion of the belief that we of ourselves have qualities of good or quantities of good. But with that crucifixion, comes the resurrection in the realization, “I am nothing, but I can give you all.” Why? Because “the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.” Continue reading Good Friday: The Crucifixion of Personal Sense

The “I”within (2/4)

Above all things, from this moment on we must never declare that anything is beyond our ability; we must not accept any sense of limitation; we must not accept the belief that any good is beyond our capacity or reach, or that any heights are too high to attain, for there are no limits to the I which I am after I have made contact with It.  It becomes literally true that I live yet not I; Christ, the infinite, the unlimited, the unbounded, the unfettered lives my life. Continue reading The “I”within (2/4)

The “I” Within (1/4)

As long as we try to direct our thoughts or our actions, the effects will be haphazard – good and bad, successful and unsuccessful. A state of complete quiescence in which there is no thinking or planning must be reached. We must be as completely passive as the piece of ice. Such a state can only be achieved when all desire has been surrendered. Do I know the will of God? Certainly not! My will would be to see everyone instantly healed, but would that result in their awakening to spiritual values, in the opening of the soul? No! I must sit back and wait patiently for the will of God to make Itself known. Continue reading The “I” Within (1/4)

Toward the experience (5/6)

Many persons who are very good students of truth cannot heal because as long as they have only the letter of truth, they are believing it merely with the mind, and since it is the mind that has caused the difficulty, the mind is not going to cure it. The beliefs in the mind cause all the errors; therefore, another belief in the mind is not going to cure them. You must transcend the mind, and when you have transcended the mind all these things that the mind declares or believes in are proved unreal.

Toward the experience (4 of 6)

Infinite Way Letter 1965 – January  Aka – Beyond Words & Thoughts By Joel Goldsmith Part 4 of 6 Toward the experience   Surrender yourself to God         If you are looking up to God, wanting God to do something, and trying to get God to come down to you, you are “out to lunch,” just not around where God is. You must become convinced that God does not reward good and God does not punish evil. Whatever reward or punishment comes is from within your own self as is evident from all the good people in the world who … Continue reading Toward the experience (4 of 6)

Being a disciple of the Christ

Being A Disciple of The Christ By Joel Goldsmith         The disciples of the Christ were imprisoned, but they walked out of prison with an angel ministering to them. The disciple of the Christ, who does not believe safety, security, health, and harmony are to be found in pieces of matter, mounts the cross and rises out of the tomb. That individual, reborn of the Sprit, lives in the Fourth Dimension of life. He is still in the world but not of it. The disciple of the Christ moves about in the world and works at the same daily tasks … Continue reading Being a disciple of the Christ

Toward the experience (2/6)

Infinite Way Letter 1965 – January Aka – Beyond Words & Thoughts By Joel Goldsmith Part 2 of 6 Toward the Experience   Motive         You might rightly ask, “then what is the good of all this teaching? What is the good of all the years of study of these books?” And I will say to you that the Experience will not come without that. The study, the practice, the living, and the reading are the steps that break down the mortal sense into which we were born, that enable us to “die” to mortal sense and to be “reborn.”         … Continue reading Toward the experience (2/6)

Toward the experience (3/6)

Infinite Way Letter 1965 – January  Aka – Beyond Words & Thoughts By Joel Goldsmith Part 3 of 6 Toward the Experience That Something      “In all thy ways acknowledge him.” Acknowledge Spirit in all your ways; acknowledge that Spirit is the source of all. Then you will discover that it will not be very long until that acknowledgment dissolves your sins, false appetites, fears, doubts, greeds, lusts, and mad ambitions. The moment you try to dissolve these, you are in psychology, and psychology cannot succeed because it cannot make you other than you are.         Whatever your nature is, … Continue reading Toward the experience (3/6)

Toward the Experience (1/6)

Infinite Way Letter 1965 – January Aka – Beyond Words & Thoughts Editor’s Note: The material in Beyond Words and Thoughts has been taken from tape-recorded lectures and classes give in 1963. It first appeared in print in monthly letters. By Joel Goldsmith Part 1 of 6 Toward the Experience The heart and soul of the mystical life is an inner experience, and no matter what mode or method is used, that experience is possible if the basic motive is to discover the truth. As long as you are just seeking to demonstrate health, supply, or companionship, however, there is … Continue reading Toward the Experience (1/6)
