“I”Dissolves Personal Sense

We honor God and we honor our spiritual integrity when, instead of asking for forgiveness or favors, we approach God with the finger on the lips and on the mind, going to God without thoughts, without desires, going to this center within ourselves in silence that we may hear the still small voice even when it is at its stillest and smallest. The Christ (5/5)

I know this that the Bible is literally true in those passages that present to us universal truth, such as, for instance: I will never leave you nor forsake you. All these passages that show that the Christ is right where we are; that it isn’t the Christ that has forsaken us, it isn’t God who has forsaken us, it’s that we have, in our human sense, become separated from God. We have not agreed that God can set a table before us in the wilderness. We have not agreed that there is nothing impossible to God. And where we have said, “Well, why doesn’t God do these things,” or “Why isn’t the human race better off?” We forget the very logical answer: The world isn’t turning to God; it’s turning to some finite concept of God. Paul called it the God whom ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.   Continue reading The Christ (5/5)

The Christ (4/5)

1950 First Portland Tape 4 Side 1 The Christ By Joel Goldsmith Part 4 of 5 This quality in the mind of Moses and in the mind of Elijah, we, today call “the Christ.” Whereas Moses called it I Am, and whereas Elijah called it the still small voice, or the angel of the Lord, or the voice of the Lord, you watch what happens when it comes to Christ Jesus, he doesn’t call it by any of those names; he has a new one. He calls it the Father within. I can of my own self do nothing, the … Continue reading The Christ (4/5)

The Christ (3/5)

1950 First Portland Tape 4 Side 1 The Christ By Joel Goldsmith Part 3 of 5 Now, I’m going to go to the third step along the way of scripture and show you that this meat that I have within, or water or wine or resurrection, was, as Jesus called it, even before Abraham. It was not a new dispensation given to the world by a man named Jesus. It was not a new teaching; it was an ancient teaching; so ancient that he said, before Abraham was, and Abraham was the Father of the Hebrews, the originators, so to … Continue reading The Christ (3/5)

The Christ (2/5)

1950 First Portland Class Tape 4 Side 1 The Christ By Joel Goldsmith Part 2 of 5 Now, as you read through your gospels, see if this is not the teaching of the Master. See if this is not what he meant by Christianity: I am the way, the truth, and the life. I am the resurrection; I am the bread; I am the wine; I am the water. Now, let me call your attention to his most mystical, transcendental teaching because it follows naturally; it’s the second step in this unfoldment of oneness. The scene is at the well … Continue reading The Christ (2/5)

Prayer – The Upward Dimension: Earthbound – Landlocked

From – Tape 344 Side 2 1960 Lausanne Class “Prayer – The Upward Dimension: Earthbound – Landlocked by Joel Goldsmith This Body Is Not Me We are earthbound and we are landlocked until we break out by going upward. Only as our vision goes upward out of this body, out of this world of force, do we get up into a free strata, a free realm, where we’re no longer body locked, landlocked, earthbound, but where we are free souls. You know that all of this world, except the mystics or those on the mystical path, are locked up in … Continue reading Prayer – The Upward Dimension: Earthbound – Landlocked

Immortality (5/5)

One of the high points of the Message of The Infinite Way reveals that although appearances may testify to the fact that there are evils outside our own being (that is, evils connected with people and conditions), we, as students, must immediately recognize that we are being tempted to believe that these are external people or conditions. We must realize that we are being tempted to do something to, for, or about them; whereas, all of this is taking place within our own consciousness, and must be met there.
