The Nature of God and Prayer 2/4

Even when you are entertaining a sense of separation from God, and we all do that at times, that does not mean that we are separated from God. Usually it means that we have emptied out, emptied ourselves of yesterday’s manna so that fresh manna can fall. This is a healthy state. Those who live on yesterday’s manna are headed for trouble. Flesh and Flesh 2/4

Now, in order to understand the subject of flesh and body, you must understand the meanings of these seemingly contradictory terms, which are not contradictory at all. They are no more contradictory than when you read in the Infinite Way writings that God is the only Power, and then when you get me into a practitioner’s class, I whisper to you, “God isn’t power at all,” and nothing contradictory about that. When we are talking ordinarily, and the subject of power comes up, the question is, “what is power?” Continue reading Flesh and Flesh 2/4

Fourth Dimensional Consciousness 1/5

But beyond this, there is that which has come to be called the real man, the spiritual man, or the Christ-man, or the perfected man. And, all of this of an infinite nature is found to be embodied as the consciousness of an individual. In other words, we are only limited to this mind and body, and its world, until we break through and there discover a presence and a power within ourselves. Our Sabbatical Periods 1/5

To actually have a Sabbath, or a sabbatical day, and to be out of this world, out of its responsibilities, out of its cares—not in the sense of an escape remember; not in the sense of taking a steamer down the river for a day; not in the sense of going to a circus; not an escape, but for the purpose of having the entire period lived in the presence of God consciously—lived in the Spirit. Self- Purification part 2 Intro

The inner experiences that we have, and the inner experiences that come to us, and the instruction that comes and the wisdom, the guidance, the direction comes only at those times when we are living in that consciousness of no condemnation, of impersonalization, and they can’t come to us at any other time. That is the full meaning of that statement that “When you go to the altar and pray, and there remember that anyone has ought against thee, first get up and make thy peace. The Religion Of Mysticism (1/4)

Only as love becomes embodied within our consciousness, and only as we learn not to condemn, judge or criticize others, to hold no one in bondage to his errors of omission or commission, can we realize the power of love. Only as we learn to pray that the eyes even of our enemies be opened to the Christ, praying that God be the light, wisdom and understanding governing all men, friend or foe, regardless of race, color or creed, are we lifted into a consciousness that frees, not only ourselves but all those who come within range of our thought. We free others from their errors even as we are freed from our own. Continue reading The Religion Of Mysticism (1/4)

Starting The Contemplative Life (2/5)

The Kingdom of God is a Spirit, not a super human being, but a Spirit! And this step constitutes the very first step in attaining spiritual Light. It is the very first step in attaining an awareness of the presence of God because if you cannot accept this, then you would have to say, “Well, only Jews can have the presence of God,” or “Only Baptists can have the presence of God,” or “Only Buddhists can have the presence of God.” But this is nonsense. The presence of God is within you . . . whoever the “you” may be. Continue reading Starting The Contemplative Life (2/5)
