Therefore, when we receive an assurance of God’s Presence, we may receive nothing further than that, and yet we may be expected to pack up and take a trip around the world without knowing how or why or wherewithal. The Tree Of Life (4/5)

And the usual struggle in life is to overcome enemies and try to make friends, but this is not the way of the contemplative. The contemplative knows: “It is I. It is I. This tree is all there is, even if I’m seeing a thousand different branches, it is one tree. It is I, It is I. Be not afraid; it is I. There is not me and another; there is one tree of life.
