It is for this reason that in this work we have three steps toward final realization and initiation. One step is the reading of these writings because they present the message just as I am giving it to you here. As a matter of fact, with the exception of The Infinite Way, none of my books were ever written; every one of my books were spoken like this and taken down on a machine and then put on the press. There never was an intent to sit down and write a book or to give a truth to anybody. It’s just been this informal standing before a few people or a lot of people and saying whatever came through from the Father, and then letting it be caught down there.
So that the first attention, the first idea or step is to fill ourselves with this in order to get the letter of truth and whatever of consciousness lies behind the spoken word. The second step is to have a teacher; someone who is a step ahead of us in spiritual development or unfoldment because, I, if I be lifted up shall draw all men unto me. Any teacher who has actually touched the hem of the robe; any teacher who has ever been touched by the Christ can lift you up a thousand degrees higher than you can ever believe yourselves to be lifted. And that will give you the foundation for the final step. The final step you take alone. And that is where you make the actual contact with the Father within through your periods of meditation. Once you make that contact within, God flows forth to you in words, in deeds, in acts, in guidance, in direction, and protection, in every form of good necessary to your experience.
Only in the initial stages do we rely on inspirational books and scripture, and on men and women of developed or cultivated spiritual consciousness. But the Master himself gave us the teaching: If I go not away, the Comforter cannot come to you. Why callest thou me good, there is but one good; the Father in Heaven. He too, was always turning his people away from the human personality, even while admitting to them, “I am the Christ; certainly I am the Christ, and I know it. More than that, I am God.”
He told them one time, “Doesn’t scripture tell you that ye are God? Well then, why do you blame me for saying I am the Son of God or Christ? It’s in your own scripture; it’s in the Hebrew scripture; it’s in the Old Testament. Why do you find fault then that I tell you, I am Christ?” But remember this, no matter how many times he said that, he meant you, because he said, “Our Father; your Father and my Father. And greater works than these shall you do.” Showing that everything he taught was a universal truth. It was about you and it was about me. And the whole object of his teaching, like the object of The Infinite Way is to make you consciously one with the Father, and there is a deep reason and there is a deep answer to why.
Here is a mystery, which, as you contemplate it, will unfold in all of its beauty, harmony, grace, and it will make your lives new. But you must entertain it in your consciousness. You must feed it. My giving it to you is planting the seed in your consciousness. You will have to feed it, nurture it, hold on to it, keep it close to you, hug it, until it has a chance to develop and be born as the Christ child. And here it is: My conscious oneness with God constitutes my oneness with all spiritual good. My conscious oneness with God constitutes my oneness with all spiritual good. Not by might, nor by power, just by grace, just by virtue of the contact, just by virtue of conscious oneness.
You see, God is infinite being, therefore God embraces within Himself all person, all place, all thing, all substance, all cause, all effect, all reality. And therefore, the moment you become one with that, you become one with everything in God consciousness, and no good thing shall be withheld from you. Only be sure of your conscious oneness with God. That is why the Master said, “Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat or what you shall drink, or wherewithal you shall be clothed. Your heavenly Father knoweth you have need of these things and it is His good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
Yes, but you must be consciously one, since as a human being, you are the prodigal separate and apart from God.
