Without some measure of material sense, you couldn’t have any physical, mental, moral, or financial discord. Which, of course, is pointing the finger at every one of us and saying, “Yes, I’m guilty.” To some extent, every individual on the face of the globe has some measure of material sense, and that material sense externalizes itself in material conditions; sometimes good material conditions, sometimes evil ones, but always material ones. Once we learn to give up the sense of personal possession as indicated by the words I, me, mine, we begin to find the real meaning of spiritual living, universal living, impersonal living, harmonious living. God expresses Its harmony through our being. Every phase of harmony, regardless of its name, is a quality, an activity, and a law of God. Practice this presence of God in you. Practice it, morning, noon and night, under any circumstance and every circumstance. And more especially, those that appear to be evil circumstances; pray the prayer of remembrance. Not a prayer of things I need, or want, or should have. But the prayer of remembrance:
Be not afraid, it is I; be still, and know that I within thee am God.
