Maintaining Our Awareness God's grace can reach us only as we are attuned to the kingdom of God within. As God reaches out to us extending His grace, and we are not there listening in attunement or in at-one-ment, then we are not receiving the grace that is ours. Attunement or At-one-ment
Both of these expressions point to the same experience. But what is it actually? If we use the metaphor of a radio that you listen to it will become clear quickly.
The Radio metaphor
Looking for music that suits your taste and mood, you looking for a frequency or a channel that will fit. In the static you hear first you hear multiple channels and have to listen really well to pick up the right signal. When you pick up the right channel, you feel connected and can have a blast!
So it is with your Inner small voice. There can be at times, a lot of static in your consciousness. The mind chatter is taking up a lot of attention and you can be distracted listening to it. Suddenly it happens that everything stills down and you receive a clear signal. You attune to the Inner Voice, to the light within. That is an experience. It suddenly makes sense that the altar is within. You are touched by the inner light, this is the at-one-ment. Being in connection to the altar within. Communion with God. Recognizing your Oneness with All. A moment of Rebirth.
