Looking at how my mind (thought producing chatterbox) works, I discover that there is a temptation to think that my thoughts and the way I think within my human frame of reference is going to help me to navigate through life and even to help me wake up.

What I mean to say is this. Over and over I see my mind at work. I walk through a shop and have an opinion about everyone. I read some article in my news app and get frustrated about what ‘they’ are deciding this time. This is what my mind does, it cannot do anything else. And I expect progress and put my faith in it… until I don’t.

To give up the idea that your understanding is necessary to wake up to the truth of Who you are and to give up the idea that the self-evaluation is helpful for your awakening is what you could call your transformational journey. The words of Jesus come to mind. Let’s read it from John 3 and part of Chapter 12 ACIM:

1There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”

3Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

4Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”

5Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

John 3 New King James Version

To be born again is to let the PAST go, and LOOK WITHOUT CONDEMNATION UPON THE PRESENT. For the cloud which obscures God’s Son to you IS the past and if you would have it past AND GONE, you must NOT SEE IT NOW. And if you see it now in your delusions, it has NOT gone from you, although it is not there.

TO MY AMAZEMENT

To bring back to memory: your thoughts produce these images. The cloud which obscures Christ is  past ideas you hold about yourself. Your evaluation of yourself is the way you see everyone and what other reference for thinking and comparing do you have but the past? And what is the past? Is it still here? Is it a helpful reference to compare something with what is already over?

Amazing isn’t it.
