Part 3 of 4
Now, supposing you were to let any opposite belief come into your thought like, “I wonder how I can be made to live longer.” You would immediately be outside the realm of spiritual demonstration. Or suppose you permitted the thought to come in, “I wonder if I will be healed, or when will I be healed,” you are outside the realm of your spiritual demonstration; you are blocking all possibility of demonstration.
All demonstration of harmony must be based on the two words, I Am. So then, whenever the temptation comes to be concerned about a demonstration of any kind physical, mental, moral, or financial, to turn right into it with, “No, no, no. I don’t want demonstration—I already am.” That must be your answer or treatment, “I already am.” And as you train yourself for that, you train yourself not to be a seeker; that is, a human being wanting to get something. But you come to the point of realization, “I amalready the Christ of God. I already am in heaven. That which I am seeking I am. All that the Father hath is mine.” You see the difference there? There is the point that flashed right in the moment I sat down.
Watch this point, if you continue in the belief that you have a demonstration to make you won’t make it. I am already infinite being. I am already all that God is—if not, where would God’s government of me come in? What happened to it? It must have slipped up somewhere. Oh no. God never slips up. God’s kingdom is intact and you are that kingdom. God’s government of Its universe is perfect, eternal, immortal—and that governs our being. Therefore, we have no demonstration to make. We have the belief that we have a demonstration to make to overcome. That’s what we have to overcome—the belief that we have a demonstration to make.
Does that put it in different light? Watch this. Never accept a demonstration—never accept a problem—if you do, you are a human being and you are seeking to improve your humanhood. That’s not our function. Our function is to realize the kingdom of heaven on earth—the kingdom of heaven on earth.
Now, unless you take that attitude you have no spiritual basis for your work. If you take any basis in which you have a healing to achieve, that you have a disease to get rid of, that you have employment to secure; that you have a business in need of help; then you are working on the human level, and merely trying to get a little more or a little better humanhood. That’s not our function. Our function is to realize the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven.
Now, the way to that rests with those magical words—I am. Or as I use it—“I already am. I already am.” And there is the temptation out there saying to me, “Oh no you’re not! You’re still wearing eye glasses.” No I say, “No, I already am. I already am. I refuse to do any work about it. I refuse to treat. I refuse to do anything about it except to stand fast in the truth that God is the infinity of my being and I am complete. And that is all there is to it. I stand and stand and stand. And whether or not I have achieved 100% of that realization is not too important. I have realized enough of it to be very healthy and happy now—and making progress along the line all the time.
The main point is this: that the method of it is the realization that I am already free. I am already about my Father’s business. I am already in the kingdom of heaven. I am. I am. I am. I am. In spite of any appearances, I still am. And I am.
And so, here comes that temptation saying, you must do this tomorrow or you must get well or you must get rid of this pain and the answer comes back, “I’m sorry. I already am. All that the Father hath is mine. I stand on the point of the infinite nature of my being already established.
Now there is the magic. There is really the magic in spiritual healing. Otherwise you‘ve got somebody that needs to be healed and then you’ve got something to be done about it and your spiritual healers cannot do it. Your spiritual healer is an individual who has come to see that the kingdom of God is intact, here and now, and all that we are dealing with is appearances or temptations to believe in a selfhood apart from God.
