To love our family and not to be disturbed by their failings or too proud of their achievements; this too is freedom. To stand in back of the world, and watch its comings and goings, its successes and its failures, its loves and its hates, and not to be overcome or involved—this is freedom. Continue reading Treatment 4/4
Inwardly however, the very moment we turn to God and maintain that turning, day-by-day, something began to happen within us, and just as planting the seed in the garden, there’s no use looking at the garden tomorrow or next week and wondering why we haven’t got peaches. It all comes in its due time. It goes through a lot of processes between the breaking up of the seed in the ground and the appearance of the fruit on the tree. Continue reading Treatment 3/4
Now remember, there’s only one reason you’re not under the law. There is only one reason you’re under divine grace, and that is because of your relationship with God. God is the Father/Mother principle of existence and we are the offspring. We are the divine children of an infinite and an eternal and an immortal Principle, and because of that we are in the world, but not of it. We are under divine grace. Continue reading Treatment 2/4
Removing yourself from the law is a specific act of consciousness which you do daily—you can’t do it once and be free forever. You have to pray without ceasing, and there’s no fooling about that “without ceasing” business, because the moment you stop praying you bring yourself back under the mesmerism of the world, and you come right back under the law again. That is what the Master meant when he said, “Go and sin no more.” Continue reading Treatment 1/4
“How do you achieve, let us call it a greater realization of this truth than we now have?” We do it in this wise. Every time a problem is presented to us, we bring to conscious remembrance whatever of truth applies to that situation. Not for the purpose of destroying it or overcoming it, but of meeting it in our own thought. Continue reading One Power 4/4
This is only of help where an individual, or someone under the influence of an individual, is willing to bring themselves to the state of consciousness which does not battle for its rights, which is willing to let that God which is in heaven govern this universe. Continue reading One Power 3/4
To all of this there must be an answer because, if there weren’t a possibility of Heaven on earth, we never would have had men like Lao Tzu, Buddha, Shankara, Bodhisattva, Jesus, Paul, John, Plato, Socrates, Plotinius, and then later the mystics of Europe of the 12th to 17th centuries, and now the mystical teachings of the 20th century. Continue reading One Power 2/4
In the metaphysical thought there is another step taken, perhaps a higher step, one in which the individual suffering from these human problems seeks to find a power through which they may overcome or meet these problems of human existence, and thereby turn sickness into health, lack into abundance, war into peace. And this is a step upward because the means through which they hope to attain this is either mental or spiritual. Continue reading One Power 1/4
