Morning Meditations

“Early in the morning, we begin our day
with a sense of expectancy of what the Father
will present for us to do.
Once the work is given us,
a quiet smile comes in the remembrance
that He that has given it to us, performs it.
The entire day is filled with joy
in watching the glory of the Father unfold
as our individual experience.”

From – Practicing The Presence by Joel Goldsmith

This Is God’s Day

Father, this is Your day, the day which You have made.

You made the sun to rise;  You have given light and warmth to the earth; You have given us the rains and the snows; the seasons of the year are Yours, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night.?

This is Your day.

You created me; I am Yours.  You created me in the womb from the beginning.  Use me this day, for as the heavens declare the glory of God and the earth showeth forth Your handiwork, so must I show forth the glory of God.  This day let me glorify God.  This day, let God’s will be made manifest in me.  This day, let God’s grace flow from me and through me to all those whom I meet.

Father, it is Thy intelligence that I need today? not my limited wisdom, but Thy infinite wisdom.  This day, I need all the love with which Thou canst fill me.  Give me Thy wisdom and Thy love in full measure.

Father, I have great tasks today that are beyond my understanding and beyond my strength, and so I must rely on You to perform that which is given me to do.  You have said that You are ever with me and all that You have is mine.  Grant me the assurance today that Your love is with me, that Your wisdom guides me, and that Your presence upholds me.

Your grace is my sufficiency in all things.  Your grace!  I am satisfied, Father, to know that Your grace is with me.  That is all I ask because that grace will be made tangible as manna falling from the sky, as a cruse of oil that never runs dry, or as loaves and fishes that keep ever multiplying.  Whatever my need, Your grace provides for it this day

Just that much is enough to start us on our day, not as the son of man, but as the Son of God.

Joel’s Meditation

Our Spiritual Resources – Page 25

By Joel Goldsmith

 God, The Only Action

The italicized portions of the book are spontaneous meditations which have come to the Joel during periods of uplifted consciousness and not in any sense intended to be used as affirmations, denials, or formulas. They serve as examples of the free flowing of the Spirit. As the reader practices the Presence, he, too, in his exalted moments, will receive ever-new and fresh inspirations as the outpouring of the Spirit.

The claim presented to you may be one of unemployment. Would you attempt to take an unemployed person and give him employment? What guarantee would you have that he might not lose his job the next day or be placed in the wrong kind of a job? Instead of planning what should happen to this unemployed person, immediately turn to the word God:

God – God is infinite. Infinite? If God is infinite, God is the only. Then God is the only employer because there cannot be more than one. If God is infinite, that would include employee, too. God is both the employer and the employee, and the whole activity of employment, remuneration, reward, and recognition is taking place within God – God acting within Itself, God acting within Its own orbit, God acting within Its own being, God functioning Its own being.

God Is Your Dwelling Place

Many persons have been taught that if they wanted something, they should pray for it.  If they needed a new home, they prayed specifically for a new home or did “mental work” about it.  But in the Infinite Way, or for that matter in any other mystical teaching, no one would do “mental work,” take thought, or pray about attaining or acquiring a home.  What he would do would be to settle down into a meditation, and if he found it difficult to become still, he might begin by realizing:

There can be only one home because I live and dwell in God; I live and  move and have my being in God.

Who would want to live in any other place?  Who would want any other  home?  Heaven forbid that I should want any home other than the  “secret place of the most High,” or that I should ever desire to be any place other than “hid with Christ in God,” established in my spiritual          home in the bosom of the Father.

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High” will always have a beautiful home. And so, as you ponder this idea of your real abiding place for just a few minutes, you become very still.  Now you have no desires; now you are not struggling to get something; and when you have released your desire for anything in this world, you automatically find yourself at peace.  Then, in quietness and in stillness, there comes this conviction:

Where God is, I am.  I am ever in His Presence because I and the    Father are one, and all that the Father has is mine.

That will constitute your prayer or meditation, and then having attained the realization of your oneness with God, what you call your physical dwelling place, your house or human home, will appear.  You will not have to chase after it. It will chase you.  You will not have to hunt for it: It will run around hunting for you until it finds you.

PRACTICE – To attain spiritual consciousness requires practice

and nobody gets there without it.
Practice the presence.
Practice protective work. See below…
Practice on dogs, cats, birds, plants.
Practice on any and every appearance.
Practice forgiving.
Practice judging not.
Practice praying.
Practice asking
Practice humility
Practice dying.
Practice resisting not evil
Practice loving God with all your heart.
Practice loving your neighbour as yourself
Practice, Practice, Practice and then Practice some more.

PROTECTIVE WORK – The first 30 minutes of the day are the most important of the day.  Set the tone EVERY day with protective work.
Acknowledge God as the ONLY BEING and ONLY POWER and this precludes the existence of anything of a destructive nature.  FEEL that God is one.  Safety, security and peace are entirely dependent on your realization of the truth of God as One – Infinite One.  You MUST reject the belief in two powers.

Our concepts must be changed to give way to a recognition of Omnipresence, Omnipresence here where we are; Omniscience, the All-knowing; Omnipotence, the All-power. Then we can relax and be. All there is to do is to be and to awaken in the morning in the realization:

I am living here and now, and the Spirit of God that dwells in me goes before me to perfect this day. He performs all that is given me to do; He perfects that which concerns me. My only function is to be and to bear witness.
