You have to have spiritual discernment, in order to behold the things of God, because the things of God are foolishness with man. And the things of man are foolishness with God. So, you can’t look through your eyes, or hear with your ears, and try to judge of God’s kingdom. God’s kingdom is revealed to each one, individually, through the inner listening ear. Do you see that?

I listened to Mrs. Cady here, over and over and over again, with one power, one power, one power, one life; there’s only one life. There’s only one… Look, in her whole make up, there is never a battle, nor a fight. There is only a peace. A peace. There’s always a peace flowing out. A peace, which is an acceptance of God. But, she doesn’t go out to do battle with it, but to smile at it; “You have no power.” Do you see that? That is the whole secret of these people who have found  their peace. It isn’t that they have found a weapon to use. There’s no weapon, is there? There’s no weapon to use. They have found peace, because they have found God to be the only power. And then, they let their fever, and the lumps, and all these things, disappear. But not while you are battling them. While you are battling them, they are a creation of your mind, and you’re perpetuating them. You’re perpetuating them, and then trying to aim bullets at them, but still holding them there. There’s only one way to find your peace; if you can… It’s foolish to say; “Find God.” ‘Cause you never will find God while you’ve got an opponent. You never will. Nobody is ever going to find God, while they have an enemy to fight. You only find God through love. And if it’s necessary, you’ll have to love your enemy. And if your present enemy is disease, you’ll have to love it too. And say; “God bless you, and I hope God takes good care of you.” What harm? I could trust God, even to take care of my diseases. And I’m sure he won’t let them do any harm to me.

Well, do you see the world has need, now that it’s beginning to open its mind to spiritual healing, it has need of a spiritual healing principle. And, all of these teachings, that say; “Oh well, if you’ve got rheumatism, it’s because you’ve got evil thoughts in your mind.” Or; “If you’ve got cancer, it’s because you hate somebody.” No. And that’s what most of them are using. They’re using that kind of teaching. Psychosomatic medicine. They’re always building a physical disease with a mental cause. They might just as well have a physical cause as a mental cause, as long as it’s going to be a cause. A cause will always have an effect. But, only when you come to the place where you realize, disease can’t have a cause. Why? Because of the word “One”. There is only one cause.

If God is one, and God is the creative principle of the universe, can there be two creative principles? Can there be opposing creative principles? No. So, if there’s a devil, it really must be a part of God. It really must be a part. Because God could not have within Itself, something opposed to Itself. Could God have within Itself, something opposed to Itself? No. If you had the power to eliminate anything from your consciousness that was opposed to your well-being, wouldn’t you oppose it; wouldn’t you throw it out? If you had thoughts of lust, envy, jealousy, which you knew were destructive, wouldn’t you throw them out if you could? Certainly. Well, if God is all power, I’m sure God could throw out any power that would ever raise its head in opposition to It. But, there is no such thing. There is no such thing as a power opposed to God. Now, you will come into your peace when you accept this. And, you will be able to teach these other people. As they seek a principle of spiritual healing, you’ll be able to teach it to them. But you won’t, if you don’t learn the lesson of One; One life, One mind, One power, One law, One being, One cause, One creative principle, and then the rest. Do you see? That’s what you must learn. That’s what you must learn, because otherwise you’re just going around chasing this God to get rid of your troubles, when there is none. “My peace I give unto thee, not as the world giveth.” Do you see that? The world? Yes, you can take an aspirin, and heal a headache with it. That’s the kind of peace the world can give. Do you see that? You can take some pepsin, and stop some indigestion. That’s the kind of peace the world can give. But that isn’t the kind of peace the Christ gives. The Christ reveals a being and a body of spirit, in which there is nothing opposed to God. You won’t find this true, if you examine the body under a microscope, because you’ll be judging with the eyes of the world, the mind of the world. You have to have spiritual discernment, in order to behold the things of God, because the things of God are foolishness with man. And the things of man are foolishness with God. So, you can’t look through your eyes, or hear with your ears, and try to judge of God’s kingdom. God’s kingdom is revealed to each one, individually, through the inner listening ear. Do you see that?

Now, we have a couple questions. Will you please explain why Moses, after all the years of struggle, did not enter the promised land. Well, we are told, for one thing, that he tried to use his personal powers to make water come out of a rock. That was the mistake that the Master refused to make, centuries later, when he was enhungered, and he was tempted to turn stones into bread. And, he said; “Get thee behind me Satan. Now, I’m not here to demonstrate supply. God is my supply.” Every time that we indulge the word “I’, we keep ourselves out of Heaven. That’s why the Master said; “If I speak of myself, I bear witness to a lie.” “I can, of my own self, do nothing.” So that, if the Master had said; “Oh, I will produce gold in the fishes mouth; I will multiply loaves and fishes,” he would never have entered the Kingdom of Heaven. Had he ever taught that he could demonstrate health or wealth, he would not have gone into Heaven. Why? Because, there would have been a personal sense of I. And it can not go into Heaven.

I will illustrate that, from a little gem, which comes down to us out of early forms of mysticism. It is found in Hebrew mysticism, and it is found in Persian mysticism. And, the story is this: A very holy man died, and went to the gates of Heaven and knocked, and God came and said; “Who is there?” And, he said; “It is I.” “Go away. Heaven is all filled. There’s no room. Come back another time.” So then, later, this holy man came back again and knocked. “Who is there?” “It is I.” “No, Heaven is still filled. There’s no room. Come back another time.” But now; now, this holy man really began to meditate. So, when he came back the third time, and God said; “Who is there?” He said; “It is thou.” And, God said; “Enter. There never was room here, for me and thee.” God is infinite. Do you see that? God is infinite. And so, if I claim that I can demonstrate health or wealth, haven’t I set up a selfhood apart from God? Yes. But, if I say; “No, no, there is no health and there is no ill-health. There is no lack, and there’s no limitation. There’s no sin and there is no disease. God is infinite Being.” Now, we have God on the field. Do you see that? There’s no I. There’s no I that can do good, and there’s no I that can be evil. There is only God. And when you have God as One, you can go into Heaven. But if you have a selfhood apart from God, and you condemn yourself because of sin; did you know that in your whole lifetime, you’ve never sinned? Never. Never, at any time, regardless of what you may have done, you’ve never sinned. There is, in all human beings, a personal sense, which sins, which causes us to do things which we know are not right. Paul refers to that, when he says; “I find, in my members, a law of sin. The good that I would, I do not. The evil that I would not, that I do.” Not that I am a sinner. Not that I am evil. But, that I find in my members, an evil presence. Well, have you not done the same thing? Have you not thought some thing, that you knew was wrong? And said; “But, this can’t be me. I – I don’t think that way. But, what is this devil in me, doing this?” Well, you were very nearly right. It wasn’t you at all. It was a world thing, impinging itself upon you. Everybody hated the Germans, so we hated them too. Everybody hated the Russians, so we hated them too. Everybody’s going to hate somebody else, so we’ll hate them too. We didn’t do that. That was impinged upon us, from without. We knew better all the time. We knew that you must love your neighbor as yourself. We knew that you have to love your enemies, even more than your friends. And we wanted to, but this mesmerism, from outside our own being, it temporarily controlled us.
